Hello,
a customer asked me if it's possible to have some kind of "replication mechanism" for proprietary archive which are used with an association of servers?
I am not sure that it's possible but maybe somebody knows some tricks for making the copies of data/files while one of the servers is off? 😉

Unfortunately, there is no trick. Index and file number can be different so you can't make copy.

Yes even if some customers have already done some scripts to do that and they think it is working. In fact it is not working. It is trully impossible to do. ==> Goto HDS

There is no support for proprietary archive units produced by a list containing an association.
Unfortunately, it is possible to configure it that way, and as mentioned on this thread, it's been used by some customers to do "redundant" prop units.

It simply does not work and shall not be advised.
If need redundancy and replication, then go to HDS 😉
