Hello,
One of the customers had a project with proprietary archives and backup folder on another drive.
One day he reinstalled the server and copied the project on the new PC. But it seems he forgot to copy the folder with backup archive data. And after some time he noticed that the old data from backup folder were missed and there is only the newest data. He copied the folder with backup data but PcVue project still couldn’t be see it.
After some tests it seems that the issue is within TH folder with the archive_name.end, which have some kind of link to the backup data and without this link the old data is unreachable.
So at the moment there is two set of archive data - old archive data+backup folde and new archive data+backup folder.
I received the instructions to try
1/ Option 1
- Stop the project
- Zip the backup folder (security backup)
- Rename the current backup folder (let’s say C:BackupPower => C:BackupPower.old
- Copy the original backup folder to C:BackupPower
- Copy / paste all files from C:BackupPower.old to C:BackupPower (assume overwrites for all files). Be careful, if no “Power” or “Power.end” copy them from current TH folder
- Restart project
- Use a trend viewer to search old data
2/ Option 2
- Stop the project
- Zip the backup folder (security backup)
- Rename the current backup folder (let’s say C:BackupPower => C:BackupPower.old
- Copy the original backup folder to C:BackupPower
- Copy / paste all files from C:BackupPower.old to C:BackupPower (assume overwrites only for “Power” and “Power.end”, no “h00xyz.*” files). Be careful, if no “Power” or “Power.end” copy them from current TH folder
- Restart project
- Use a trend viewer to search old data
But later I was told it didn't help.
Is it actually possible to change something in the archive files to have both data combined?
Or there is no chances to connect old backup data to the new ones?
Hi Anna,
I think there is no way... 🙁
