Hello,

Our customers are recording data in 2 servers (Svr1 and Svr2), a multi-active proprietary archive.

The client stations will request data by default from Svr1. In case of some errors (for example disk error) on Svr1, whereby the server is still running but the retrieval of historical is not possible, is there any way for PcVue to automatically switch to ask historical data from Svr2?

I think for this, it might be possible if there are any status variables to show the status of the proprietary archive unit, but I am not sure if there any.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Hello Kantha,

I wouldn't suggest to do it automatically but on demand, when the operator gets no historical data from the current historical server.

This said, there are some system variables for the archive unit status:
System.Unit.ArchiveUnitName.SOMx_status
Their value updates are usually temporary.
Not easy to get them change except if using a platform with external devices or network drives (what we do not recommend at all)
Combined with instruction LAN mode SET_READ_SERVER, it can be tried but again, doing it automatically is rather risky.
