How to communicate Pcvue with a Siemens S7-1500 ?
If I'm not mistaken, S7-1200 can set it to be compatible with S7-300.
Please advise.
hello Nagen,
Which version of PcVue are you using?
Hi all,
To communicate with an S7-12000 you need to select S7 Series in the PcVue configuration
The Windows version in this case is Win7.
-12000? You mean -1200? There is a KB article about making -1200 work in PcVue but there is nothing said about the compatibility with the -1500 model. I am not familiar with the full distinctions between them though.
Manu when you said "S7 Series" you spoke about S7-IP-MASTER protocol I think.
For the IP-ISO-S7 protocol there is a kb article which describe properly what to do:
Applies to:
PcVue 10.0
Summary:
How to communicate with a Siemens S7-1200
Details:
To commuicate with an S7-1200 PLC you must use the IP-ISO-S7 driver with the equipment type selected as S7-300/400.
The PLC must also be configured in a particular way. When configuring the PLC using the Siemens TIA Portal, when you create the DB, you must set it to be compatible with S7-300. This cannot be done afterwards - it must be done at the time of creation.
Please note that in PcVue configuration (Configure/Communication/Equipment menu), CPU Rack number ( node definition) must always be 1 for S7-1200 PLC's
Yes that is correct. That was what I meant.

It is also possible to communicate with S7 1200 using Modbus TCP/IP communication. Some of our customers have done that. I don't know exactly how to do but it works.
Hello,
And what about S7 1500 ?!
Thanks
