Hello all,
I have a question from the customer regarding Mitsubishi Ethernet Communication.
The customer is already using Mitsubishi PLC, and now they want to communicate with PcVue for project extension.
From PcVue's help, it is saying "A Q series PLC must be equipped with one of the following communication processors", which means it must require an ethernet module.
But what if the PLC already comes with a built-in ethernet port, can it be used?
The model used is Q03UDECPU. (Mitsubishi Q Series plc Cpu model)
Attached is the datasheet of this Mitsubishi PLC.
Thanks
Hi Kantha,
Contrary to some protocols where you need to key in the slot of the communication module, MITSU TCP/IP comes with an IP address and a port number.
While reading the datasheet attached in your post and others available on Internet (sh080008 and sh080807) it seems to be on the Ethernet port configuration as for the additional module (QJ71E71, ...)
Here is what I could gather:

We used to have some Mistubishi PLCs during the protocol development but to be able to make a statement, we need to have a model with Ethernet port in-built and achieve validation.

Hi All
I is worth testing this CPU by selecting Q Series device.
If it does not work please apply CwAudit and put all the bit for the driver in order to get the maximum trace.
Thanks again in advance.

Thank you, Edouard and Manu for the answers.
I have requested the customer if it is possible to get hold of the physical device and if they are able to make some tests.
If there are any issues, I will get in touch again with the necessary traces.
But I thought CwAudit is for serial communication, Melsec Q will be ethernet communication, so it should be Wireshark traces, no?
Hi Kantha
CwAudit was a tool to enalbe driver develloper to put trace in an external .exe program. This is not related to the type of driver. Wireshark enable you to sniff tcp/ip traffic and can aso be an interesting file to have too.
Have a good week-end
Manu
Hello Manu,
Thank you for the answers. The customer went to the site and did some tests with the device, and good news, it is compatible 🙂
There is some setting that needs to be done on the PLC. Refer screenshot below.
Answer from user
※ PLC Parameter of built-in ethernet.
1) MC Protocol / TCP : Available Communicated.
2) MC Protocol / UDP : Not Available communicated.
Very good news!!!
If you could put all that in a KB article so that we can easily access the reference that would be good!
