We are currently designing a library of Application Architect templates.
One of the requirements is to decide on a per-project-basis whether to use HDS-archiving or proprietary archiving.
How to achieve this with the means given in PcVue 11.0?
In my example project, for all the register variables there is one trend bevahiour called TRD_HDS and one trend behaviour called TRD_PROP. Upon instantiation I would like to have a parameter on template level that decides which of the two behaviors to enable/disable. Apparently, for the moment it is not possible to select or deselect a configuration item or a behavior through parameter.
Looking for a workaround I realized that by using the "Import data file" (also called readonly in AE) I could disable writing to the proprietary archive:
Consequently I assigned it the parameter _pIsProp...
A bit variable as inhibiting bit would also have been possible.
But I found no good corresponding property for the HDS behavior that I could use for disabling the archiving...
Do you have an idea? In general we do not have many options for HDS-trend behaviors...
Maybe setting the archive unit name to an empty string? That would probably cause ugly error messages in the event viewer...
Will we have the possibility to select/unselect configuration items and behaviors by parameter in the coming versions?

I dont see a simple solution.
As you said the good one is to condition the enable/disable by a parameter.

Here are the evolutions that has been selected for the next versions:
- Possibility to create System parameters
- Possibility to create Applicative files
- Parameters of type list
- Preview for graphical objects
- Conditionnal generation for objects.
- More information in status bar
The first 2 have been elected as the most importants and will be developped in the version 12.
The others will be developped if there is enough time.
Pascale, who is the only person working on AA, knows that you need this feature.

Pascale just explained me that there is also the activation bit for HDS trends in Architect.
But you must switch into advanced mode to see it.
I didn't try but we can believe her.

Pascale already has the option :
In fact Arnaud has integrated this option just after the version 11. It will be available in Version 11.x
If you really want this in Version 11 update x you should ask R&D.
