Hello,

After having many issues while testing this feature with PcVue 10.0, 11.0, 11.1 and 11.2, please be careful about 2 things.

First one, you should use the Update where the option explicit and implicit TLS exist

Second one, the email adresses field.

Depending on version of PcVue, it was possible to input directly any email address. With some versions, I would say the latest ones, only profiles or users can work. Unfortunately, the error message is not accurate at all.

Hi Edouard,

You mentionned that the the TLS option is implemented in version 10.0.

I ve installed the update 26043 for 10.0SP2 and I can't find the option.

In the version 11.2 with the update 6048, I find the TLS options.

Is it implemented in version 10.0? I have a customer who needs this option in version 10.0

Thanks Manu

Hi Manu,

I wanted to share with you my experience after wasting so much time.
I have tried all versions since 10.0 and the first one with both TLS features is 11.1!

In my opinion, emails security rules have changed. Don't even think about using it with 10.0 and 11.0

Dear colleagues,

Upgrade Support for secured connections to email servers (SPR #62558, 59910)
To cope with the wider deployment of secured email servers, more choices are now offered to support secure connections when configuring an E-mail account to:
• No secure connection,
• Explicit TLS (STARTTLS),
• Implicit TLS (SSL/TLS).
Please note that since version 10.0, changes occurred leading to support for only Implicit TLS in some versions, and only Explicit TLS in some other versions. You should verify your configuration in case of migration.
11.2.06030 Other versions: 11.1 Update

This extract of the available Release Notes tells you 2 things about that:
- Starting with 11.2.06030 (and 11.1 update at the same time), both Explicit AND Implicit TLS are supported.
- We acknoledge that there have been a varying support for one and then the other (and now both in a stable way).

Follow Edouard's advice, need to upgrade to, at least a recent 11.1 update that supports this.
