SMS Modem "Write Timeout"

Hello,

My customer was running PcVue 11.2 project with an SMS modem. SMS was being sent out using SCADA BASIC.
Apparently, the project has been running fine for the past 3 years, but for the last 1 month the error "Write timeout" has been appearing periodically.

During this period, there are 2 symptoms noticed by the user :

  1. Turning the SMS modem off and on did not solve the problem
  2. PcVue animation are all responding, but unable to stop PcVue, and apparently, the user is unable to kill from task manager too. (This point sounds strange for me)

I am gathering more information from the user, but in the meantime, I want to ask if anybody knows what does "Write Timeout" means?
1. Is it when PcVue couldn't send it to the SMS modem?
2. Is it because the SMS device couldn't send it?
