Hello,
i got a customer who is trying to test PcVue with their IEC devices, but in our help of PcVue 10, there is no info for the IEC 61850. Does somebody have it?
Thank you!
Unfortunatly the official help is not available.
Robin has the draft version if you really need it...
Thanks, Nico. I'll ask him for this doc.
It's better than nothing. 🙂
Hello
During my training, i got a customer who uses IEC 61850, and he wants to know that whether PcVue can read the files from the IEC Device. See bellow screenshot.
There is an IEC 61850 Device/Server "MMS Visual studio program", and an client "MMS 客户端"。 The "MMS 客户端" has a function that it can send "Get files" command to the device/server to ask for the files, and then it can get all the files provided by the device. See the file list in the screenshot.
He wants to know, whether PcVue has this kind of function.
Thx.
IEC61850 standard implements a service to transfer files. Unfortunately PcVue doesn't implement this feature. But, sometimes, the device doesn't use it and use Ftp. Check this point with your customer...
But even if you get the file via FTP you need to have in mind that if you want to view the data in PcVue you will need to implement a task to integrate the file into PcVue (using maybe a mamanager toolkit task or via Scada Basic)
No Manu, I think you make a confusion.
Usually, the files downloaded from the device to the Client (PcVue) are the icd files only. It's used to backup the configuration in case of disaster.
But, sometimes, and here you are right, the files are archived data on a specific format called COMTRADE.
So, in this case, a script must be done to convert those archived data in PcVue archives.
Hello both,
Thanks for your comments. That is why we did not find the configuration for reading files from device! 🙂
In 61850, there is a file model which defines the binary file uploading and downloading.
The customer needs to display the bitmaps of the video image during the online monitoring in PcVue.
Now, he is trying to use FTP to check.
Good Luck!
