Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with these protocols?
We have a customer that is trying to extract information from an SL7000 IEC7 Itron meter.
User Guide: https://www.otec.com.ua/show_catalogue_pdf/245372/1

From what I have researched the protocols are applied in projects involving data from meters.
It looks like IEC 61107 has been withdrawn and replaced by IEC 62056.

Maybe someone has had a project where these protocols have been used? Maybe they have been transformed to OPC for PcVue to read in some way?

Any information would be useful!
Best regards,
Alejandro

Hi,
No hands-on experience on my side but a bit of knowledge linked to my activities at the IEC.
As you noted, the IEC 62056 is a standard for metering stuff, also known as the DLMS/Cosem suite. It comprises many parts, some for data models, others for transport layers, and finally some for mapping onto other data model/protocols such as M-BUS.
The data model is comprehensive, not only voltages, currents, power and energy, but also load profiles, contract-related information...
A large variety of media and transport layers: Wired, wireless, many variations of power line carrier tech, TCP, UDP, optical, HDLC, Serial, PSTN...

To get started, you will need to know the physical and transport layers the customer will use. Then, the solution is eventually to find the proper OPC server. Google for 'DLMS Cosem OPC server' to find out. I am aware of at least ASE system, Kalkitech and Cogent - Never tested for real on my side, I am sure some colleagues had the occasion to dig deeper.

Could luck, and keep us aware of the solution you validate.
