Hello everyone,
Now we met a urgent problem about Modbus TCP communication. This customer wants to use redundant PLCs with Modbus TCP protocal. We tested one situation as below:
The network between PcVue and the backup PLC is disconnected, and PcVue is communicating with the master PLC. Now We pull off the cable of master PLC(at the side of PLC), then we connect the cable back to the PLC again before 'NS COM' of variable's quality comes out, and we can see that it takes about 20 seconds to restore normal communication. It's too long.
Attached file is the PcVue project under 10.0 SP1 16047.
Can we change some parameters to reduce this time?
Thanks very much.
Best Regards,
Mark
Hello,
First I think you should decrease the reconnection period in the advanced options of the PLC configuration in PcVue. By default it is 10 seconds.
Then you should take a look at this article (KB99) in our KB:
https://support.pcvuescada.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=99:tuning-the-time-to-detect-disconnection-in-tcp/ip&Itemid=30
And try to search in our KB for the word tcp, you will find many interesting articles.
Hi Ludovic,
Thanks for your advise, The test we did is just under 1 second of the reconnection period. I also searched in our KB,no good solution.
