Hello,

I have a customer who needs to store data by interval whatever it changes or not. In their project, they need two different intervals(1s and 60s).

Last time, they tried with svmgrRefreshData.dll, and it seems that our HDS will have data overflow easily with more than 100 registers stored each second.

As I know, the svmgrHisTrendPeriod.dll will be used in PcVue 11.0 to allow user to archive data by interval, but it can only work with 1 interval.

My questions are:

1. Does somebody used the svmgrHisTrendPeriod.dll/svmgrRefreshData.dll in some project, and what about the performance?

2. What is the difference between these two dll?

3. I have tried to use both dlls in one project to records data by two different intervals, and it seems it works with 2 registers, I did not try more. But I am afraid of the risk to use both DLL in one project. Do you have some idea on the two different interval?

BRs,

Hi Shu Quan,

I think there is a misunderstanding about those DLLs.
What we provide is only an example of what we can do. We have not to support them.
If a customer needs the kind of feature you described he must take this as an example and make his own code!

For example, here, we have our Australian customer which is using the Manager Toolkit. As I said, I indicated to them where he could find some samples in our DVD. Then their developer studied it and adapt to their case. Your customers must do the same!
By the way, for your information, in version 10 (SP1 Update) he found some memory leaks using some functions (ReadGroup, WriteRecipe) that, apparently, are not used by other customers.

Hi Nico,

Thanks for your comments. Yest I thought that we developed them to help customers to achieve the function. 🙁
