Hello,
The quality "EXP" is not explained in the help.
Does it mean that is NS EXP but for an alarm, PcVue mentions "EXP" + "Alarm masked bx expression"? (see the image)
My customer asked me : What is "Alarm masked by expression"?
I can't find a rational explanation based on the help documentation.
If someone has the info 🙂

Hi Manu,

First, if NS EXP is not explain in the help, please make a SPR Doc
Yes, an alarm can be Masked by an Expression, you can see the configuration in the Alarm behavior.

If the result of the expression = 1 => Alarm masked, if =0 => Alarm not masked

Hi Nico,

NS EXP is explained, but not EXP (only).

In the customer projet, all "Alarm masked by expression" are not configured with the Alarm behaviour.

All those "Alarm masked by expression" have the quality EXP (not NS EXP)

Hi,

The online help has been updated in v15.

DE or NS DE Dependent - The variable is invalid because the variable from which it is derived is disabled. NS indicates that the value is not initialized, typically during the start-up for internal variables.
EXP or NS EXP Expression - The variable is invalid because one or more variables in the expression from which it is derived is invalid. NS indicates that the value is not initialized, typically during the start-up for internal variables.

Hi,

And this is an OR because what is displayed depends on the PcVue version. While updating this table in the help for v15, I got confirmation from Dominique that it had been reworked some times ago (maybe in 11.2 or 12) to simplify a little bit.

Regards
