Dear colleagues,
The folder structure on our external FTP server has been reworked in the last days.
The goal was to:
- Make it simpler for you
- Avoid package duplication
The main change is that the folder '_beta', '_release', '_updates' and 'LastXXX' have been removed.
You will now see a shorter hierarchy of folders, with one folder per product or per product version (for PcVue).
For versions 11.0, 11.1 and 11.2 we have split in 2 sub-folders: Stable package (release and qualified updates), and intermediate updates (the ones not fully qualified).
For version 10.0, you will find subfolders for the Update 1, SP1 and SP2.
For older versions (9.0, 8.xx, 7.xx, 6.xx), there is no subfolder.
As users are mostly using Synaman downloads, and barely no direct FTP download, we have taken the freedom to reduce the amount of generic user accounts. In particular, all folders designed to offer a single package download have been removed (such as the LastXXX accounts). Using Synaman links, the fact that other packages are in the folder is not visible and is not going to disturb end-users.
All comments or questions are welcome.
Regards
Nice, one things, is it possible to have a FTP folder for the app (TouchVUe, SnapVue) ?
thanks
Thank you for the positive feedback.
For the Apps, it's coming.
Thierry has prepared the necessary stuff for compiling them as part of the nightly builds.
As for all nightly built parts, they are not in this part of the folder hierarchy on the FTP, but will for sure, the Apps will be added in the Dev build folder (of the FTP).
Just a small rectification.
The nightly builds are already available in the ftp but for the qualification account. But, not the apps. It will arrive soon I guess.
Alec has reorganized just today the Qualification ftp account.
Next week I will send a general email to give the details...
Nico
Hi,
Could you please give us some feedback after a few weeks since we changed the folder structure ?
Does it prove to be easier to find what you are looking for ?
Any problem, missing stuff ?
Thanks.
Hi,
Definitely, the new structure is fine.
What is missing in my opinion is:
- DataVue, 2 latest versions (only the last one available)
- Alert 3.6 Rev 2 Build 7
- Dream Report, the last release 4.8 ?
Thanks
