Hello,

Does anyone have experience using RemoteApp for PcVue?

As I understand it, it is like RDS but instead to have a full remote desktop, you only have the remote application on your client desktop. However, there may be some important information to know!

Thank you for sharing!

Best Regards,

Emmanuel.

Hi Manu,

Yes we did it recently here.
The main information is : Take care the mimic resolution if your customer wants running the RDS in full screen. As you should know the screen fitting feature is taking in account the ratio...
In our case we had to double each mimics: 1 for the desktop and 1 for the App

Hi Manu

Yes it is like RDS but your connection is done in a browser.

Here a documentation with Server 2012 : http://www.concurrency.com/blog/rds8-quick-and-easy-remoteapp-on-windows-server-2012/

And here a screenshot :

Hi Antony,

Thanks for the reply. I do have a question though: You says "Yes it is like RDS but your connection is done in a browser".
Is it always have to be in a browser? I thought that the Remote Desktop Web Access was optional (I may be mixing up different concepts here).

Best Regards,

Emmanuel.

Hello Nicolas,

I am not sure to completely understand the issue.
Are you saying is that the current resolution used on the client is actually the server resolution? In that case, why not define the same resolutions for the server and clients?
Or , are you saying that the resolution used on the client is the resolution of the "window" in which PcVue is displayed on the client?

Best Regards,

Emmanuel.

Hi Manu,

I think there is a misunderstanding.
Actually I understood you wanted using RDS using a mobile device. The word "App" betrayed me...

Finally I think Anthony is right, RemoteApp refers to "RDS trough Web using a web browser".

About the resolution issue I advise you try and you will see what I meant. If the client resolution is not the same than the server (which is usually the case I guess) then PcVue has troubles to render mimics in full screen.
We had the case using RDS App on an iPad having (of course) a totally different resolution ration than the server.

One another important is that your open your RDS sessioon from a web browser but the session session open indepandant windows as you can see in Anthony's screenshots.

If you weed to have your session encapsulate in a webbrowser you have to use third part software which allow you to make this.
