Hello,
Does anybody know the meaning of field 36 in the varexp.dat file for variables of type ATS?
Apparently this field is set along with the "Broadcast"-flag (field 24, "diffusion indicator"). It appears that this field alters the behavior of the alarm threshold variable in some way. In the case of my customer the alarm was not triggered when associated with a threshold value of a register variable mapped to a SNMP datapoint. I have the suspicion that the broadcast maybe failed as long as the flag was not set and the alarm was set back to the original state by another station...
Thanks very much for your help!
Hi Armin,
Broadcast is used (if I am not mistaken) to forward the variables changes to another server in case of redundancy Active Multiple or Single Active without internal variables switching

Hi Nico,
Thanks for your reply.
I understand the use of the "Broadcast" property. But I do not understand why two different fields are set in the varexp.dat, when ticking the option. One of the two fields is documented (field 24), the other one is not (field 36). Are there maybe two different kinds of broadcast behavior?
Are you sure is the field 36?
According the VAREXP_112_ENU.pdf file field 36 (new format) is the Equipment Card number!
36 30 Card Number C 8
Broadcast, as you said, is the field 24
Hi Armin,
You are right about the behavior but I think it is something done wrong when validating the variable configuration in PcVue, with broadcast option.
It does not lead to an issue because only internal variables can be configured with that option and the field 36 is not taken into account (because internal).
To confirm it, If you edit Varexp.dat and delete the extra '1' (field 36) the broadcast option it is still on.

PS : Nico, SPR or not?
SPR --> YES
