It is not unusual. There are around 20 to 30 projects, in France, with 50000 expressions or a bit more.
as you will see in the attached file, JinChun did improve it recently, you can define the upper limit in the uivconf.dat file, using the following syntax
[Expression]
MaxNumber=50 000 // by default and maxmax up to 100 000
