How to embedded the google brower into PcVue mimic? who have some experience.
Customer told me that the preformance of IE brower is bad, so they want to use the google brower.
DO you have an Active for Google browser ? IF yes you can try to insert the ActiveX.
We have not Active for Google browser. where can find this Active?
There is nothing like that.
If you want you could try to build your own.
Check this out:
Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF)
My customer don't have this ability to develop the ActiveX, so they asked me. if not this ActiveX, they will use WINCC instead of PcVue. WINCC have this ActiveX for the google browser. 🙁
Hi,
Actually we tried already to make this ActiveX (not officially, just to try) but there was some issues and we gave up...

I agree, it is not trivial. Several people have tried to work on this subject already. However, according to what I know Bruno and Thierry have made substantial progress on the topic recently (also non-officially).
Could be a good idea to check again with them...?
Why not?
sorry, I am not the developer, it is not very easy?
Hehe no, actually it is not easy.
As said by Armin, several developers tried to do it without a complete success. But, that was done not officially, I mean it was not a scheduled task therefore developers didn't use a lot of time to study it.
By the way, are you sure WinCC is using the Chrome browser engine as an ActiveX?
I found on Internet the WinCC user guide.
There have a HMI component called HTML Browser allowing displaying web pages on a mimic.
Extract from this guide:
The functional scope of the HTML Browser is limited in comparison to the Internet Explorer: • The HTML Browser will only show pure HTML pages. VBScript, Java, JavaScript, Flash and ActiveX controls are not supported. Set up the HTML pages for display in the HTML Browser by using a text editor or using a simple HTML editor. • Links to embedded files, for example *.pdf or *.xls, are not supported. • Queries and dialogs that are conducted during the access of, for example protected pages are not supported. When accessing protected pages enter your user name and password in the URL: (for example, "http:// Administrator:Admin123@192.168.0.199").
[EDIT] Oops I clicked Submit too fast!
So, according to what is written, FOR SURE, it is not using the Chrome engine (called Chromium by the way)!!
I don't know who told you that but it looks like a bullshit 🙂

About Wincc, I just got the information from my customer, not get the confirm from Wincc. but actually the Wincc browser of performance is better than the IE.
for sure not. It displays only pure html. You can't find any web site in pure html now...
But, that was done not officially, I mean it was not a scheduled task therefore developers didn't use a lot of time to study it.
Yes, that is important to note. I didn't want to say we don't have the skills. But until now we did not have the time and commitment to do it.
