Hi
I know that Java Beans are no longer supported in PcVue but we still have customer using it in old versions, especially for the WebVue compatibility.
I didn't have a chance to get in toucj with Bruno about the request below, so if you have any ideas...feel free :
'I have questions regarding the interaction between PcVue 8.2 and a Java Bean Component. I was trying for the better part of yesterday to write a component that I could plug into PcVue and was continually met with failure. The components I wrote conformed to the Bean standards (to the best of my knowledge), were error free, and ran fine in a test environment.
The first problem I have is that when inserting the Bean component, the interface that pops up doesn't outline the classes in the JAR file as it does in the help file picture. The second problem is that I get a NullPointerException as soon as I switch to Run Mode, followed by a "Beans.Instantiate failed:" comment in the Java VM.
My questions as such are:
• What information do you need from me in order to properly help me?
• Is there a special file I would need to create (other than a "beaninfo" class) in order for PcVue to be able to interpret the list of components in a JAR file?
• Even if I got this running, would this even be properly served up using WebVue?
"
Francois, I am afraid only Bruno can help you...
