Hi,
I am facing an issue where the Chinese text which I applied for a Variable Description would disappear upon applying the changes.
In the Configure > Project > Settings > Language, I have enabled bilingual text strings.
Then, in the Language > Settings, I have selected English as the first Configuration, and Chinese (Simplified) for Configuration 2.
Next in Control PanelClock and RegionRegion, under the tab Administrative, I clicked on 'Change system locale...' and enabled the option 'Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support' (Will be prompted to restart the machine).
Back at PcVue, I created an Alarm Bit and gave it the description 'Alarm 1' and '警报 一' .
Once I click the button Apply, the field for the Second Project Language would be emptied despite typing in the text '警报 一' earlier.
But when I am using French as the second language, and use the text 'Allô!', it would save just fine.
So, does this mean it is not possible to use Chinese language in a non Chinese Windows OS?
Or is this an unintended bug? Since we do have customers who are using an English version of the Windows OS and would like to have a Chinese interface.
Best regards.
Hi Andy,
That works fine for me with 16.0 rc002.
Do you check "enable bilingual text strings" ?
I send you my project by email.
Hi Andy,
For a non Chinese OS, it would be better not to use "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" but the following:
Regards
That is exactly that I do to test another language...
