Hi,
As you know, the idea with v15 was to maintain official support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
There are also good reasons to stop support of these old OS with PcVue v15, including the fact that W7 mainstream support by Microsoft is over, and it does not play well with our messages about security and the need to maintain systems up-to-date.
Feedback following the distribution of the first draft readme of v15 brings the question back, and we may decide to remove them from the list of officially supported OS.
Are you aware of a compelling reason to keep this support with v15 ?
What's your feeling/experience about how such a late change could be perceived ?
Any project you may be aware of that is planned to be ported soon to v15 with old computers running W7 or 2008 R2 ?
Thanks for your feedback
On behalf of PcVue Germany I believe I can safely say that cutting support for the two is not going to affect any of our customers or projects.
The point in time may not be ideal, but we also don't have beta test partners using such old OS versions or customers preparing the migration to v15.
Thank you for your feedback.
Following the planning meeting earlier this week, the decision is to keep official support and add a note to warn about the end of support in the next version of our products.
Such early warning is a good habit to have, good to get better at it.
Regards
