Hello,
Does somebody know an ADO.Net driver that PcVue could use to communicate (Read and Write) with Azure IOT Hub?
Thx,
Nico
As I tell you, it doesn't exists in Devart or CData.
Why do you want to connect Azure by this way ?
Do you know more about the customer needs ?
It was just 1 line in the Tender document. Something like "The Scada must be compliant with Azure IOT-Hub"
Typically something that means...nothing!
I feel like such "one line in a tender doc" does have some meaning, it also has an acceptable "one line answer", and answers that will look suspicious.
My interpretation of such one line is: "We, as end-users do not have an idea of what we are going to do with it, but we have heard (from IT, from other vendors...?) that it may be useful in the future, most probably for aggregating data in the cloud and provide information to the outside world (management, customers... anyone not directly involved in the control system)."
What it means for us, what is an answer that will not look suspicious: "Yes, PcVue as a SCADA is able to publish data to an IOT event hub endpoint in Azure. You will then be able to process these data thanks to the Azure infrastructure and services as you wish."
Unfortunately, this answer is not yet something we can say, because it is not true. But Arnaud knows why I pushed him in that direction, and there might be something coming sooner than later.
The answer "no, we do not know what you are talking about" will be suspicious 😉
Agree with all. A classic "one-line-in-tender" everytime a 'new' techno is raising.
My official answer was:
"Yes, PcVue as a SCADA is able to publish data to an IOT event hub endpoint in Azure. You will then be able to process these data thanks to the Azure infrastructure and services as you wish."
and I added "Unfortunately, today, PcVue doesn't have the complete built-in feature. You have 2 solutions: Develop/buy if exist an IOT-HUB ADO.Net provider that you will use with our UDC OR develop a DLL using our Manager Toolkit. Anyway you will have an extra cost to take in account for your quotation.
By the way, I had already several times the famous hilarious customer's question: Does PcVue Azure compliant? :cheer: :cheer:
