We all had already this situation.
Before leaving the office you start PcVue to make a long-run night test expecting checking the result the morning after. You are confident.
But, after a nice breakfast you arrive at your office and discover that this &*$%^*%!@ Windows has rebooted automatically after an urgent Windows Update.
How to avoid that?
Pretty easy actually.
1. Regedit
2. Go there: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsWindowsUpdateAU
2a if the Key WindowsUpdate doesn't exist you must create it and then create the Key AU
3. Create a DWORD in AU: NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers
4. Set the Value to 1
You can also modify properties in Windows Update from the control panel.
Hmmm I am curious to see where!
Those updates I talk about are the one forced by Microsoft because they consider it as a major security issue. They didn't ask you anything to install and reboot the machine whatever the configuration you made in Windows Update....
