ODBC Limitations

Hello Everyone,

one of our customers wants to use ODBC for databse connections. I have read that there are some restrictions especially in the maximum database size (2 GB). Is this still correct? Unfortunately i couldn't find any informations on this topic online. 🙁

I hope someone of you can help me out. 🙂

Hello Daniel,

It is still possible to archive trends, logs or recipes in ODBC database even with recent version of PcVue. Of course this is not very good solution but it works.

I can't find any information about size limitation in our help. I think it depends only the provider you are using (Access, MySQL, Oracle... and their limitations).
List of provider which has been validated:
Access 97 et 2000
Oracle V8
SQL Server 6.5

Another limitation is if you loose the connection to the database then values are not buffered as it is the case with HDS.
