Hello all,

Has somebody experience in iHistorian? Here we got a customer asked can PcVue store data(especially the user actions) to iHistorian and how to display the historical data(logs and trends) in PcVue from iHistorian.

Thx!

PcVue can only read back data that have been stored in
- Propriatory unit
- SQL database in a table with a specific format defined by PcVue.

So it is not possible for PcVue to read back data stored in any other form. The solution is to create an external program that format the data to the iHistorian structure and from iHistoprian structure to PCVue storing format in SQL. (This is the same problem as your other question regarding the column format in Acces)

But if your customer want simply to get data from PcVue to iHistorian without having to read back what IHistorian does with the data I think that IHistorain has a client OPC that can connect to PcVue real-time data OPC server.

Hello Emmanuel,

Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, the problem we're worry about is re-play the historic data back to PcVue from iHistorian.

It's difficult for the customer to buy a copy of SQL when they have iHistorian. 🙁

But, as said by Manu, how the iHistorian gets the data?
I suppose it's an OPC client or, maybe, by web services?

I found a architecture for iHistorian. See bellow.

342=55 iHistorian

So, yes it's an OPC client. For the playback historical data, it has several choices. Which one is the best for PcVue?

You mean PcVue's log/Trend viewer can read the historical data in the iHistorian via OPC? Or, you just mean the storing data from PcVue to iHistorian?

We dont have the iHstorian, otherwise, we can make a test.

Ho sorry I understood the reverse: Archiving in Historian the PcVue data!

Ok, what about the VB's way?

But, Shuquan, I think you spend your time on this forum. The question has to be asked to the iHistorian support. Questions are:

1. What is the format of the iHistorian archives? SQL Server? Prorietary? Another?
2. How to collect archives with an external tool? Any examples?
