Hello guys,

Who knows whether PcVue can expose initial data pockets of Modbus RTU in PcVue? Or whether we have plan like this? Some guys who are skillfull at Modbus from customers want to dubug communication by reading initial data pockets in PcVue, even though there are many third tools can read data pockets. They said this can officially distinguish responsibility bewteen device manufactors and PcVue.

BRs,
Mark

Thank you Nicolas.

I played with cwaudit just now, but it seems there's no initial data packets. 🙁

Hi Mark
What you try to debug here seems to be a Modbus IP driver.
The trace you get from a Modbus IP is not the same as for Modbus RTU.

For Modbus IP the best tool to sniff the traffic is Wireshark

For Modbus RTU (Serial communication) you can use CWAudit.
Prior to launch PcVue start CwAudit and
In the CwAudit menu in Trace/ CimWay32 select Driver1
And in Trace / Drivers / Driver1 select all the bits.

Then start PcVue and you should see the traffic from and to PcVue (if you have a serial port or an emilator on your Pc)
