Question on the threshold

Hello all,

I got a requirement from some of the customers, they dont want to have PcVue's default thresholds which when "lolo" is on, then "low" is on for sure. In this case, they just want to have "lolo" on while the low is off. See below:

If the value of register01 is 2, then only lolo is 1 while low is 0.

858=117 Threshold0

The actual threshold they want is:

858=118 Threshold

I did not find the settings in PcVue, can PcVue support it? Otherwise, they can only use script to make it.

Thanks a lot!

Yes, PcVue doesn't support this feature I guess.
Do you know why your customer requests this behavior?

You can use the "masking by variable" feature.
You mask your lo alarm when the lolo is active.

Hello Nico.

I am not so sure, some of them don't want to see too many threshold/alarms while they have the principle that the event of the lolo threshold/alarm includes the one in low.

Thanks Florent! It's a good solution for the alarms.:)

Thank you, Nico.

I forgot to mentioned that, the question is also for the alarms with threshold. 😆

Well several things:
1/ create a SPR to suggest having an option to change the behavior
2/ for the bit variables, you still can change them into alarms with a level you don't use anywhere...

Thank you, Florent!

For the alarms, if we use the "alarm masked by variable", then the real-time/historical value of the alarm turns to be "Alarm masked" not "OffACK". For this issue, the customer is estimating on it.
