Hi all,
We've a customer asking how to alter the secure connection string inside HDSConf.dat . They are looking at creating a workstation client project that can potientially connect to a range of HDS server locations. They want to alter the secure connection string before the project loads to encode the correct IP address. Does anyone have any information on what this string is and how is it generated? They want to alter the dat file directly before the project loads.

I don't really understand as each SQL Server connection has different connection string.
The string is done when you are configuring the connection in PcVue.
Once it's done you can't change it directly in the text file.
So, if the string is different between the designer office and the real site your customer will have, ON SITE, to create an empty PcVue project, configure the different connections and copy/paste the different strings from hdsconf.dat to the real project.
