An important limitation comes with version 5 of DreamReport.
You have to keep in mind that it is no more possible to create Logging alarms groups in the Logger Studio.
ODS is explaining that, for all existing projects, where real-time alarms are used, they will continue to run. But for all new projects, access to all real-time alarm part (alarm logging groups and access to all real-time alarms drivers) will be hidden, starting from the version 5.0
That is because it became too complex to handle the different way of managing alarms depending on the SCADA vendor and type of drivers (OPC AE,...).
So they prefer to read existing alarms history from Historian or SCADA and to not mess up with managing transitions and changes of states for real-time alarms.
What does it change for PcVue alarms?
The driver PcVue real-time alarms (using Web Services) is becoming useless.
To get PcVue alarms information from DreamReport, the alarms MUST be logged with HDS and we MUST use PcVue HDS Alarms driver.
