Estimados Colegas,
Today a quick update regarding protection dongle and virtualization.
May be you don’t know but we are using USB dongles HL (HL is the type) with two chips, one is HASP, the other one is SuperPro. Today we are using the SuperPro chip, we will migrate to the HASP technology or to another dongle soon.
When searching the web you may find that HL dongle is supported on the virtualized environment but most of the tests have been done for the HASP techno, so there is no official support for SuperPro , even if we know that it works in some cases.
As a reminder different types of environment supposed to support the HL dongle, but that are only officially for HASP :
Virtual Box 4.3.28
VMware Player 6.0.3
VMware Workstation 11.1
VMware ESXi 5.5
XEN 4.5
KVM (RHEL 7.0, Ubuntu 14.04 Server, Debian 8.x)
Parallel Desktop 9 for Mac
As you know you can use devices allowing to have an USB port on the network, and we often use the AnywhereUSB from Digi ( http://www.digi.com/fr/products/usb/anywhereusb ) , and usually we don’t have any issue with this device.
But the only one that is officially supported by SuperPro is the MyUTN-80 device from “SHE Technology” http://www.seh-technology.com/products/usb-dongle-server/myutn-80.html
