Hello all
A client has a problem at PcVue starting. It is very long (approximately 10 mins)
In the event viewer, he has traces about OPC variables time out. It appears on variable linked to equipement not connected on the opc server.
My question is : can we change OPC variables subscription time out ? Or is there an other solution to reduce the starting time ?

Hello,
For the reducing start-up time, you can check the useful option in the project-settings-variables: Permanent scan.
If un-check it, then it'll not scan all the external variables during the start-up. I suggested some customers who use LON or BACnet, and it works fine with this option.
Hello Loick
A quick answer (email copy):
After my assistance to Roiret, we eliminated the problem of time out when clients subscribe to NS OPC variables Net Sentinel.
When a client starts and subscribes to PcVue server variables, it falls timeout because PcVue server can provide state NS variables.
Playing on the various options of groups, none is satisfactory (read the OPC cache, reading equipment, ...)
A workaround is in place that involves the client directly subscribe on PcVue variables. The option should be added to the VarConf.dat file:
[LocalServerSubscribe]
SynchronisationByCache = 1
A 37859 SPR was created to investigate this problem in connection with the company Micromedia to correct this dysfunction in future versions.
The problem is also present for Sofrel Server.
