One of our customers asked us for a migration from PlantVue to PcVue and an evaluation of the effort.
Do you have any experiences or recommendations? Are there any particularities to take into account? I suppose the hardest part will be to transform the variables...?

I remember that I already tried to use the FactoryLink importer for the purpose of importing at least the graphics and symbols a few years ago but with not much success.

I don't think there is a magic how to for this kind of job.

I can share few experiences of evaluations. I never did the job, only analyse.

Sorry it is in French

Perfect, Ludo! Exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you very much.

HEF describes exactly the case that we have here: I would appreciate if the Smart Generator for Unity allowed to generate native Modbus communication.

Hi there,

after our tests to migrate from PlantVue to PcVue I also created a short document with a step-by-step description to import graphics and VBA scripts.

Perhaps someone can use it in the future.

Unfortunately we weren't able to evaluate to migration of the variable database due to missing software.

Feel free to add your experiences.

This week I was struggling with the Unity Importer. When we tried to do an import we always got an error that some permission was missing. Even though DCOM Security Settings were switched off and we had admin rights on the Windows machine.

It finally worked when we started PcVue (explicitly) as admin user.
It's great that it worked then, but nevertheless this is an issue that needs to be resolved,
because we found it out only by coincidence.

Some more details:
Windows Version: Windows 7 64 Bit
Unity version: Unity 5.0 M

I suggest to create an anomaly for that.
According to my understanding the SG Unity has never been qualified with Unity 5.0, right?
